Brad lives in New Haven, Connecticut, where he teaches high school English. The classroom keeps him steeped in sturdy authors, so extra-curricular reading has to keep pace with Vonnegut, Nabokov, and Morrison. Lately, it’s multi-generational and multi-voiced American history narratives that fit that bill, like Philipp Meyer’s The Son and Colson Whitehead’s Underground Railroad. When he’s not grading papers or reading The Scarlet Letter one more time, he is living out the urban farming dream — tending to a modest flock of fowl, a hive of bees, and a couple of kids.
