Tui T. Sutherland is the author of more than 40 books for children and teens, including the New York Times-bestselling epic dragon fantasy Wings of Fire, the fifth book in the bestselling Spirit Animals series, and the Menagerie trilogy, which she co-wrote with her sister Kari. Tui is a night owl who does most of her writing between 11pm and 4am. She is also the mom of two hilarious, high-energy little boys and loves reading them books about awesome kick-ass girls, like Princess in Black by Shannon Hale, Princeless by Jeremy Whitley, El Deafo by Cece Bell, and Nimona, by Noelle Stevenson.
Tui was born in Venezuela and grew up in Paraguay, Miami, and the Dominican Republic; she went to Williams College with Book Talk host Cyd Oppenheimer, and now lives in Boston.
